Project Citizen

I think these students did a wonderful job deciding what problem needed improvement in their community. Their decision to improve their school doesn't only affect the students but also affects the city because of it's new look. These young students did what alot of adults should do; stop complaining about how horrible their community is and actually do something about it. I think Project Citizen is a wonderful idea and every student should take advantage of it.

My Perfect Candidate

My perfect candidate is one who is focused on improving the lives of young people by improving health care and education. They would make is easier for students to get into college by lowering tuition. Doing this will keep young people out of the street and in turn reduce crime. My candidate would improve health care by allowing all people to see their doctors and to visit hospitals for no fee. All of the bills would be payed through taxes. The people would like this because the taxes won't be as expensive as hospital bills. My perfect candidate would be an African American wife and mother. This will show how well she can balance two extremely difficult jobs without ever losing track of her immediate goals. My perfect candidate would be a great politician and the world would remember her forever.

First Amendment Right

I agree this week in the news was very interesting. It is true that we [citizens of America] have rights under the first amendment. However, Kanye West was wrong for interrupting someone elses. Award shows are something that we hold as entertaining and fun. But when Kanye West stormed the stage and took the microphone form Taylor Swift, he was wrong. I believe that the media is right for putting blame on West. It is distasteful and uncalled for.

Former President Jimmy Carter's response to media attacks on President Obama was just because he was allowed time to express his freedom of speech. He did not grab the microphone from anyone else and shout at the media. I believe that former president Carter's response is needed because never in history has some many people put so much negative unfair blame on a president. I do beleive that there is a reason why so many people are speeching so negatively about President Obama. But, hey, I'm just using my first amendment right! :)

Obama's Speech

President Obama's speech to the children of America was a powerful informative speech that encouraged students to take responsibility for their own education. I believe that it was a monumental moment in history because he told students about his problems growing up. He told them that he grew up in a single family and had to over come hard times. He told them how he had difficulties in life but never gave up. Presiend Obama told the students that no matter the circumstances in your life, that is no excuse to not do your homework or a have bad attitude. He inspired students because he told us that we can need to stay in school , become involved in school activities that will allow us to find which carer field would be best for us. He told us how each subject learned in school helps us to become productive adults. The president's speech was very powerful because he said, "Here in America, you write your own future. I believe it changed American students view on education because he gave us examples of people that used their failures to improve their lives through hard work and determination. Some of his examples were JK Rowlings whos first book was rejected tweleve times but her second book was accepted and Michael Jordan who was cut from his highschool basked ball team but later became the best player of all time. I believed that this was a great speech. Thank you President Obama.

Is The US Constitution as Useful as We Believe?

The United States Constitution is the basis of everyday life in America; it always has been and it always will be. This list of amendments determine almost everything the citizens of America do and how they do it. For example, if there was no constitution, the members of the government would try to out do each other every chance they got. And if they created a law that was unjust to the citizens, the citizens would have nothing to do but follow it because without a constituiton, there would be no such thing as "peaceful protest". So the Constitution is here because it keeps the people and the government itself in line. Without it, the United States would crumble swiftly.
